LAWN CARE CALENDAR

Late Feb - April | Fertilization Application 1

Fertilizer and pre-emergents are applied at this time for an early spring green-up.  These are also the months when we can most effectively control crabgrass and broadleaf weeds.  You must act quickly, though, to ensure the greatest percentage of control.  Blanket spray and spot spray (weather permitting) to control broadleaf weeds.

May | Fertilization Application 2

Fertilizer, pre-emergent crabgrass and broadleaf weed control, and a blanket spray will be applied at this time.

Mid June - July | Fertilization Application 3

Slow release fertilizer and insect control are applied to sustain your lawn through the high stress of summer heat as well as spot sprays for weeds.

Mid August - Sept | Fertilization Application 4

Slow release fertilizer and blanket spray for weeds.

Late Fall/November | Fertilization Application 5

Fertilizers will be used to help prevent winter stress and promote healthy root development.  Your lawn will also green-up sooner in the spring as a result of this application.

WHY IS LAWN FERTILIZATION IMPORTANT?

Water, sunlight, air and nutrients all affect the health of your lawn.  Fertilization adds supplements to your soil to compensate for growth challenges. It helps make your lawn
healthier, greener and more capable of withstanding adverse conditions.  Fertilization can also help protect your landscape from diseases.  If you really want to have a lush, vibrant looking landscape, then fertilization for your lawn is key. Midwest Lawn and Snow applies
balanced fertilizers, enriched with the proper amounts of slow and quick release nitrogen, phosphorus, and potash that are specifically formulated for the soil conditions in your area.

BROADLEAF WEED CONTROL

Our Fertilization Program also includes weed control. Effective broadleaf weed control depends on several factors: temperature, humidity, and stage of growth. Many broadleaf weeds are difficult to control and require
several treatments. This is why we include weed control in our Fertilization Program. New weeds that sprout after an application will be controlled on your next treatment. The most effective weed
control eliminates the plant slowly in approximately two weeks.

FERTILIZATION TECHNICIANS AND TRAINED SERVICE REPRESENTATIVES

Midwest Lawn and Snow is proud to have highly trained fertilization technicians that can examine a lawn and know exactly what it needs to look its best.  We also have trained service representatives that know how to properly apply our fertilizers and are always careful to avoid close contact of our products around decorative shrubs and ornamentals. During every application, our fertilization representative will survey your lawn’s condition and will point out problems in your lawn that may require attention and recommend the best solution.  We do this because we care about the health of your lawn and we want to make sure you are getting the best possible RESULTS from our services.
